The brief summary of Verse 29 from Surah Baqarah by Mufti Maaz Haroon

What This Verse Reminds us

  1. You’re Not Accidental—You’re Intentional

“He created all that is on Earth for you…”
This tells us and specially the youth: You’re not just surviving on Earth—you’re meant to thrive here. Everything around you was placed with purpose: the food you eat, the air you breathe, the beauty you see. Allah designed this world as a gift and a test, tailored for your growth.

  1. The Universe Isn’t Random—It’s Crafted

“Then He turned to the sky and made it seven heavens…”
This reminds us and specially youth that the stars, galaxies, and skies aren’t just science—they’re signs. Allah structured the universe with layers and meaning. It’s a call to be curious, to explore, and to recognize divine order in everything—from physics to faith.

  1. You’re Always Seen—Even When You Feel Invisible

“And He is Knowing of all things.”
For us and specially a teenager navigating identity, emotions, and peer pressure, this part is deeply comforting. Allah knows your silent struggles, your private victories, your intentions—even when no one else does. You’re never truly alone.

Here’s a visual diagram of this verse:

Earth at the center (created for humans with blessings).

Around it, examples of blessings like water, plants, animals, etc.

Seven concentric circles representing the seven heavens.

Our Reflection

“If Allah made the Earth for me, shaped the skies above me, and knows everything within me… then I must matter. My choices matter. My worship matters. My life has meaning.”

🪞 Example for understanding:
Imagine your school builds a brand-new science lab. They fill it with all the equipment, books, and materials you’ll ever need. You walk in and everything is ready, just waiting for you to use it. That’s how Allah prepared the earth for us, but on a far greater scale.
