The brief summary of verse 32 from baqarah – By Mufti Maaz Haroon
In this verse, the angels say to Allah:
“You are perfect, Ya Allah! We only know what You have taught us. You know everything, and You are the wisest.”
It comes right after Allah taught Prophet Adam names and knowledge that the angels didn’t have. The angels admitted their limits and praised Allah’s perfection.

Analogy
Imagine you’re playing a huge open‑world game. You’ve explored a lot and think you know the map well. Then the game’s creator shows you hidden levels, secret codes, and shortcuts you never knew existed.
You’d say:
“Wow, you made the game — you know everything about it. I only know what I’ve discovered because you allowed me to.”
That’s exactly what the angels were saying: “Ya Allah, You created everything. We only know what You’ve taught us.”
Life Lesson for us
- Stay humble — no matter how smart you are, there’s always more to learn.
- Always turn to Allah for guidance — He sees the full picture when we only see a small part.
- Respect knowledge and be grateful for it — it’s a gift from Allah.
